After dropping 49 points against the Minnesota Timberwolves last night, Houston Rockets superstar James Harden reportedly did a post-game workout, per Jonathan Feigen of The Houston Chronicle.

Russell Westbrook reportedly passed by Harden as he was working out. He appeared to be confused as to why Harden was still doing some post-game reps, to which Harden responded: “Just trying to get better.”

As if the 49 point outburst wasn't enough. Maybe Harden wanted that big 5-0.

Harden has now scored at least 40 points over his last three and at least 35 points in his last seven. Surprisingly, his 49 last night wasn't a season-high as he previously dropped 59 points against the Washington Wizards early in the year.

The Beard shot a career-high 41 attempts, making 16 of them, in their 125-105 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves last night. He shot 8-of-22 from three-point range and made 9-of-11 from the freethrow line, and also added five boards and six dimes to round out his night.

To say that Harden has been on a tear is already an understatement. The man has been doing it so consistently over the course of a year now. These insane scoring numbers are already starting to become the norm for him.

As crazy as it sounds, Harden may be well on his way to an even better scoring season than the historic one he had a year ago.

On the season, the Rockets star bearded guard is averaging an absurd 39.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 7.8 assists. He is also taking nearly 26 shot attempts per game, with around 15 of those coming from beyond the arc. Moreover, he is taking nearly 15 free-throw attempts per contest.
