It has been an eventful 2017-18 NBA season for newly-acquired Houston Rockets shooting guard Joe Johnson, to say the least. Fortunately, it seems third time might be the charm after finally landing with the Rocks following stints with the Utah Jazz and Sacramento Kings.

Needless to say, it was quite the series of events for Johnson. However, he says he is glad to finally be on a team with championship aspirations, per Mark Berman of Fox 26 Houston:

“I'm playing with guys who are hungry, who are starving for a championship…I think it makes it that much sweeter..”

Johnson's comments should come as no surprise. He has enjoyed an accomplished career as a seven-time All-Star, however, it is safe to assume that it is championship or bust at this point in his career. Fortunately, he is not the only one in Houston who feels that way.

The Rockets made a blockbuster deal with the LA Clippers during the offseason in order to acquire point guard Chris Paul. After years of early exits from the Western Conference Playoffs, it became evident to the nine-time All-Star that a change of scenery was necessary.

That said, things have worked out pretty well in Houston thus far as they currently own the best record in the NBA at 44-13. Furthermore, the addition of Johnson only gives the Rockets even more firepower in their arsenal to work with. The veteran has also established himself as a go-to scorer in the clutch throughout his career, which could serve the team well in the long run.
