Houston Rockets head coach Mike D'Antoni had nothing but praises for James Harden for his performance in the 2018-19 NBA season.

Harden was named as a unanimous selection for the 2019 All-NBA First Team along with fellow superstars Giannis Antetokounmpo, Paul George, Stephen Curry and Nikola Jokic.

Harden also has chance to bag the Most Valuable Player award for the second straight season, as he is a finalist for the coveted plum along with George and Antetokounmpo.

D'Antoni is hardly surprised because he believes that there is no other player who performed like Harden not only this season but also in the past few years. The veteran coach believes that his superstar guard had an “unbelievable MVP-type year” for the Rockets this season.

“There's no one that had a better year than James, in the last three or four years,” D'Antoni said via Mark Berman of Fox 26 Sports. “We had some serious injuries for a long time and he was able to carry the team on his back.”

Harden is the scoring champion this season after averaging a career-high 36.1 points on an efficient 44.2 percent shooting from the field. The 29-year-old superstar also posted 7.5 assists, 6.6 rebounds and 2.0 steals in 78 games for the Rockets this campaign.
