Houston Rockets head coach Mike D'Antoni is set to be released from the hospital after being confined last Friday due to an intestinal virus. However, he is not expected to travel with the team as they head to Chesapeake Energy Arena to face the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday.

Mike D'Antoni, however, is expected to be fully recovered when the playoffs begin this weekend.

The veteran coach was once again instrumental in helping the Rockets become one of the best teams in the league this season. He has led the team to a 53-28 record and they are currently in the third spot in the Western Conference.

Should the Rockets win against OKC, they will lock up the third seed in the West and will likely face either the Thunder, the San Antonio Spurs, or the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of the playoffs this weekend.

D'Antoni started calling the shots for the Rockets a couple of years ago, but it was last season when the team had its most successful run under him. They had the best record in the league and reached the Western Conference Finals, where they faced the Golden State Warriors. Unfortunately, they weren't able to take advantage of home court, as a late-game collapse in Game 7 of that series cost them a shot at the Finals.

This season, the Rockets are trying to finish what they were unable to accomplish last year, and D'Antoni will play a huge part in making that happen.
