Houston Rockets head coach Mike D'Antoni admits he would be “disappointed” if Russell Westbrook's 3-point shooting didn't improve in Houston next season.

Westbrook shot a putrid 29.0 percent from beyond the arc in 2018-19 with the Oklahoma City Thunder and is a career 30.8 percent shooter from deep.

D'Antoni thinks the former MVP can get his 3-point percentage up with the Rockets since Westbrook will always have the green light to shoot the ball and won't have to look over his shoulder.

Russell Westbrook has averaged a triple-double three seasons in a row. He put up 22.9 points, 11.1 rebounds and 10.7 assists this past season with the Thunder, but didn't shoot well from anywhere on the floor. Westbrook shot 42.8 percent overall and 65.6 percent from the free-throw line.

The eight-time All-Star did have surgery on his left hand to repair a torn ligament in a finger after the season ended, so maybe Westbrook will shoot the ball better in 2019-20. The Rockets are certainly hoping so.

The best percentage Westbrook has had from the 3-point line in his NBA career was during his MVP season when he shot 34.3 percent. Westbrook made 200 3-pointers that season. That's probably the percentage Mike D'Antoni and the Rockets are shooting for in 2019-20 with Russ.
