Russell Westbrook made history on Saturday after helping the Houston Rockets take down the Phoenix Suns, 115-109.

Westbrook recorded a triple-double of 24 points, 11 rebounds and 14 assists to pace the Rockets to victory. In the process, the explosive guard moved up to 18th on the NBA's all-time assists list, passing Tony Parker who had 7,036 dimes.

Russ entered the game with 7,035 assists, meaning he needed just two dishes to topple Parker from his spot. The 31-year-old will now compete with Rajon Rondo for the 17th spot, as the Los Angeles Lakers guard currently owns the spot with 7,051 assists.

Westbrook has been pretty solid so far in his first season with the Rockets. While he is no longer averaging a triple-double like he used to in the past three seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder, he remains a scoring threat that has elevated Houston.

Entering their game against the Suns, Westbrook was averaging 21.7 points, 8.1 rebounds and 7.3 assists while shooting 39.9 percent from the field and 73.7 percent from the free throw line.

Houston is putting their hopes on the duo of James Harden and Westbrook to lead the team to the promised land. After 22 games, they own a 15-7 record and the fifth seed in the ultra tough Western Conference.
