Houston Rockets star point guard Russell Westbrook says most people don't know he's a nice guy off the court.

On the court, Westbrook is one of the fiercest competitors we have ever seen in the NBA. Other than the ball itself, Westbrook has no friends on the court and will do whatever it takes to win the game. His aggressive style of play rubs some fan bases the wrong way, but the former MVP doesn't really care.

When he's not playing basketball, though, Westbrook is just like everyone else. He's a father, son and husband who does a lot of charity work. Rockets fans will get to see a different side of Westbrook this season now that he's in Houston:

During his time with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Westbrook would give his game-worn shoes to kids after games, even in road arenas. The explosive guard did a lot of charity work in Oklahoma City and figures to participate in Houston charitable organizations as well.

You may not like Westbrook on the court because of his intense attitude, but there's no way you can hate the Rockets star off the court. Houston fans are going to love Westbrook on the court, though, now that he's on their side.
