Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors host James Harden and the Houston Rockets on Thursday, and Thompson will likely be tasked with the challenge of trying to stop Harden on offense.
James Harden currently leads the NBA in scoring. The reigning MVP is averaging 33.3 points per game and has scored over 40 points four games in a row entering Thursday.
Speaking to local reporters after the Warriors' morning shootaround, Klay Thompson said what Harden is doing right now is simply incredible.
“His scoring numbers are incredible,” Thompson said, via Logan Murdock of the Mercury News. “His production is incredible.”
Rockets All-Star point guard Chris Paul and shooting guard Eric Gordon are out with injuries right now, so the offensive burden is on Harden's shoulders every night, and he's coming through game after game.
Houston has won five games in a row coming into Thursday and 10 of its last 11 games. Harden is putting up 39.7 points during this 11-game stretch, while dishing out 8.5 assists. He's also getting to the free-throw line 14 times a game.
Harden has had pretty good success against Klay Thompson and the Warriors during his career. The Beard has faced off against Golden State 31 times and is averaging 22.1 points per contest. It's going to be a fun game on Thursday in The Bay Area.
