The UFC is coming back to Denver, Colorado on July 13th for a stacked UFC Fight Night event. There were rumors this fight card was going to take place in Tampa Bay, Florida but it is now official that Denver will be the spot where we get to see the women's flyweight division's best Rose Namajunas and Maycee Barber battle it out for what looks like could be a potential No. 1 contender fight.

This news comes three years after the UFC VP of Regulatory Affairs Marc Ratner told MMA Junkie that the UFC would not be going back to Colorado after the state approved the use of ONE Championship's ruleset. In ONE Championship's ruleset fighters are allowed to knee a grounded opponent which in the UFC is illegal but it seems like this is an obstacle that the UFC was able to overcome to make this event happen.

Rose Namajunas (12-6) is coming off a unanimous decision victory in her main event fight against Amanda Ribas at the UFC Apex. That was Namajunas' first victory at flyweight and will now look to keep her momentum going against “The Future” Maycee Barber.

Maycee Barber (14-2) on the other hand has been on a tear over the last three years winning six straight fights most recently defeating former flyweight title challenger Katlyn Cerminara via unanimous decision. Barber has been adamant about facing the current flyweight champion Alexa Grasso in a rematch but knows she needs another fight to get that chance and that she's fancied a fight against Namajunas as it would be a big win on her resume.

This fight could certainly put either one of these two flyweight contenders right into the thick of things in the flyweight title race if they become victorious on July 13th.

This will be the UFC's first event back in Denver, Colorado since 2018 when we witnessed one of the greatest comeback victories in the history of the UFC. It was a UFC Fight Night even when Yair Rodriguez knocked out Chan Sung Jung “The Korean Zombie” with a spinning back elbow with just one second left on the clock in the 5th round.

Now, we get to see these two flyweight contenders put it all on the line in hopes of competing for the coveted flyweight title after a hard-fought victory. Let's check out the official fights on this fight card so far:
