Lunar horror game Routine was re-revealed during the Summer Game Fest 2022, after a decade of its initial announcement.

Searching for answers puts you face to face with an enemy who is certain the main threat is you.

Set in an abandoned moon base designed around an 80's vision of the future, you must roam through the different sectors of the Lunar station. Armed with the Cosmonaut Assistance Tool, or C.A.T., you can start uncovering the mysteries why the base was abandoned. Upgrade the C.A.T. to unlock more functionality by discovering modules scattered all over the base.

Routine boasts immersion with minimal aim assist and UI, and the creepy bone-chilling VHS horror-esque style of the trailer, this game certainly isn't for the faint of heart.

Indie developer Lunar Software has issued an announcement about the series of events that led to Routine going dark. “As we were approaching what we believed to be the end of development, we were finding more and more things that we weren't happy with that negatively impacted the experience,” they said. “We had worked on the project for 5 years at that point and simply couldn’t release it as it was.”

The lack of release date on an announcement was also entirely intended, as they “won't be repeating the mistake of sharing a release date until we're entirely confident we can hit it.”

While there was no release date that came with the announcement, but we do know that it's landing on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S.
