Looks may be deceiving if you believe Russell Westbrook.

The Oklahoma City Thunder point guard maintains he is not “hunting” for triple-doubles after the Thunder lost to the Suns last night.

Westbrook was on the verge of history, just one triple-double away from setting the record for the most in a season, but the Suns thwarted him, holding him two assists shy of the mark.

After the game, Westbrook was asked if he was going for those last two assists in the final minutes.

Westbrook had one of his worst games of the season really, shooting 6-for-25 along with eight turnovers. There were many moments down the stretch where, with the game already decided, Westbrook appeared to be passing up very open looks to set up teammates who had worse looks.

And Suns players believed he was definitely hunting for that triple-double.

Westbrook still has three chances to notch one more triple-double. We know he's not a fan of resting games so he should actually get three more chances, which is more than enough of an opportunity for him to solidify himself as the triple-double king. Whether or not you believe Westbrook specifically cares about this is up to you.
