For the first time this season, Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook has been ejected from a game after receiving two technical fouls.
With 6:41 left in the third quarter of against the Memphis Grizzlies, the 28-year-old UCLA product was given a second technical foul for continuously complaining about a prior play where the shot clock did not reset.
Russ was arguing the shot-clock should have been reset. Received his first T. Then got another for…. this?…. https://t.co/AizbIm1wLf

Russell Westbrook, who was ejected, received both of his technicals within 10 seconds of each other.

What's even more surprising was that Westbrook was unable to record a single assist at that point and left the game with 21 points on 6-of-19 shooting, with five rebounds and two steals. It's only the third time in his stellar eight-year career, and the first time in more than three years, that Westbrook has failed to register a dime in a game.
Russell Westbrook (23 minutes before ejection) finishes w/o an assist for just the 3rd time in his NBA career (first time since 11/8/13).

His ejection also extended the Grizzlies' record to 191 games without giving up a triple-double, which is currently the longest active streak in the NBA today.
Westbrook tossed after being hit with consecutive Ts. Grizz streak of denying a triple-double will extend to NBA-best 191 straight games.

Thursday night's matchup is only the first of four meetings for both teams this season. Westbrook will surely bring extra motivation when the Thunder square-off against the Grizzlies at Chesapeake Energy Arena for a rematch on January 11.
