Houston Rockets star Russell Westbrook is looking very quick and his knees haven’t been an issue in Houston's night scrimmages and practices, according to Alykhan Bijani of The Athletic.

Westbrook had a minor procedure on his surgically repaired right knee after the 2019 playoffs ended. He also had surgery on his left hand to repair a torn ligament in a finger.

Per multiple sources who have watched the Rockets’ night scrimmages and practices, Westbrook is looking very quick and his knees haven’t been an issue, despite his not playing 5-on-5 basketball for the last three months because of his knee operation in May.

Last season for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Russell Westbrook averaged a triple-double for the third consecutive season. The former MVP put up 22.9 points, 11.1 rebounds and 10.7 assists while shooting 42.8 percent from the field, 29.0 percent from beyond the arc and 65.6 percent from the free-throw line.

Westbrook is one of the fastest players in the NBA. He’s a blur in the open court, impossible to stay in front of and can get to the rim at will while finishing in heavy traffic.

When Westbrook is pushing the ball on fast breaks, he’s going to collapse the defense when he gets to the basket, which will free up the Rockets shooters for wide-open looks from beyond the arc.
