The New Orleans Saints dominated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday Night Football in Week 9 in every facet of the game. Besides the individual numbers from their players, New Orleans' blowout victory over Tampa Bay reached an impressive DVOA milestone on Football Outsiders.

According to Football Outsiders, the Saints produced a total DVOA of 142.6 percent against the Buccaneers. Their jaw-dropping DVOA last Sunday was the fifth-best DVOA in NFL history and the best since Football Outsiders was incepted in 2003.

When looking at the box score, it was evident why New Orleans trounced Tampa Bay on the road. Altogether, the Saints gained 27 first downs, converted nine of their 14 third-down attempts, and Drew Brees was nearly flawless.

On the other hand, the Buccaneers had only 13 first downs, converted one of their nine third-down attempts, and Tom Brady mightily struggled. Brady finished the game with 209 yards and three interceptions, giving him the third-worst quarterback rating of his career.

What was noticeable for the Saints last Sunday night was the showing from their defense. In the previous weeks, the defense of the Saints showed signs of weaknesses across the board that teams could take advantage of. However, as New Orleans improved to 2-0 against their NFC South rivals, their defense made it tough on Brady and company to generate much of anything.

There's no doubt that New Orleans' victory over Tampa Bay was thoroughly impressive. But after seeing them reach historic levels in DVOA, their dominant performance is even more eye-opening.

The Saints will look to carry their momentum from Week 9 into Week 10 against the hobbled San Francisco 49ers.
