Dez Bryant’s 2018 season ended before it could even take off after the New Orleans Saints wide receiver reportedly tore his Achilles during practice on Friday.

It’s a devastating news for the Saints and most especially for Dez Bryant, who worked hard to stay in shape while waiting for a team to give him a call prior to signing with New Orleans. One could only imagine how crestfallen Bryant is right now, but the wideout chooses to see this incredible twist of his fate in a more positive manner.

Bryant had just signed a one-year deal with the Saints on Wednesday after months of job search. He was released by the Dallas Cowboys back in March when he still had two years left on his contract, but the 30-year-old wideout has always believed in his talents – and in his chances to hook up with a new team before the end of the year.

Bryant’s injury takes away the chance to see him play in arguably the most electrifying offense in the league. The Saints’ offense is currently second in the league with 34.9 points per game, powered by an imposing passing attack that ranks seventh in the NFL with 289.9 passing yards per contest.

Bryant is the latest Saints receiver to pick up an injury with Ted Ginn and Cameron Meredith both already on injured reserve.

It’s likely that Bryant will not be able to play right away at the start of the 2019 season. What’s worse is that his injury might not have just ended his season, but his career as well.
