The Seattle Seahawks aren't sure when they will get Ziggy Ansah on the field but when they do Pete Carroll knows that is a huge get for the team. The Seahawks signed Ansah to a one year deal just over a week ago, after the signing wouldn't count towards the compensatory draft pick formula.

The Seahawks traded Frank Clark to the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this offseason and the hope is that Ansah will help fill some of the production lost with the trade.

“It’s a huge get for us,” head coach Pete Carroll said on Tuesday via Pro Football Talk. “Ziggy playing last year at the time when he got hurt, hurt his shoulder, he was as effective a rusher as there was in the league. After seven games, he had four sacks and 20-percent of the time he was causing problems for the quarterback. That’s as big a number as anybody had. He’s got a chance to be a big factor for us.”

The big question going forward for the Seahawks is just how long Ansah will be sidelined with the shoulder injury. Some reports have Ansah being cleared as early August, while others report he will miss the first month of the season. Carroll didn't give an update on when he should be back but has been impressed with how hard Ansah has worked to get back onto the field.

Whenever he does get back Ansah is going to need to get up to speed right away and play a big role in the defense.
