On paper, the Knicks now look more like a team that might be able to make some noise in the Eastern Conference next season.

The offseason acquisitions of Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah, Courtney Lee, and Brandon Jennings make them much more of a threat than they were a year ago.

The rebuilding process is far from finished, though.

This summer's moves, along with the continual development of Kristaps Porzingis and Carmelo Anthony's presence, might be enough to make the Knicks an attractive destination for free agents next summer.

One free agent in particular that the Knicks will undoubtedly target: Blake Griffin.

From inquistr.com:

If the Knicks were able to acquire Griffin, it would change their entire future. Griffin has shown over the last couple of seasons that he can take his game to a new level. He has improved his offensive game, defensive game, playmaking game, and brings a ton of energy and excitement to the court.

Most teams in the league would benefit by adding a player like Griffin, and reports continue to build that his days as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers may be numbered.

A lot will depend on how this season goes, for Griffin in L.A. and for the Knicks. New York is still going to have to prove that it has something with its new team. Rose is going to need to show flashes of his old self, Melo needs to prove he isn't on the decline just yet, and Porzingis has to keep improving too.

If all of that happens, the Knicks may be a team worth looking at for Griffin.
