The Philadelphia 76ers will face off with the Boston Celtics in the first round and veteran big man Al Horford shared his thoughts on facing his former team.

Horford admitted that they knew that there was a chance that they'll face the Brad Stevens-coached squad. He also acknowledged that since they have faced off with the Celtics several times already in the regular season, the series will just be another battle to him. Either way, he expects the first round duel to be an entertaining one.

“We knew it was a possibility,” Horford said, via The Boston Globe’s Gary Washburn, as transcribed by Abigail Adams of NESN. “For us, it’s just a great opportunity. I, myself, am grateful for another year to be in the playoffs and be able to compete and go out there and do what we do.” So, what does the think about taking part in in the storied matchup once again, but on a different team this time? “It’s part of the business,” he said. “Obviously, we’ve already played them plenty of times this year, so that effect is kind of out of the way. So, now we can just go out there and compete. It should be a fun series.”

The last time the Celtics and 76ers met in the playoffs was in 2018 Eastern Conference Semifinals. Al Horford was still a member of the Celtics then and he was matched-up with none other than Joel Embiid. The Celtics booted out the 76ers in five games Horford was credited for his tough defense on Embiid.

But now, the tables have been turned. Hopefully, Horford still knows a thing or two about the Celtics playbook which he can use to the 76ers' advantage.
