If there's anything good that has been brought forth by the current coronavirus pandemic, it's the innate kindness of so many people. Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons has come out to send a message of appreciation for all the Sixers fans who have gone out of their way to help out in any way they can.

Simmons and the Sixers have been promoting “The Philly Pledge” campaign, which is a donation drive that hopes to raise funds and resources for the brave first responders in this fight against the dreaded coronavirus. There has been an overwhelming response from Sixers supporters, and Simmons himself has a brief message for everyone who has contributed in their own ways:

The first responders are placed at great risk of contracting the virus, given that they physically face it head on day after day. The least we can do is to show our support to them, and campaigns such as The Philly Pledge are a great avenue for folks who would want to make donations for these heroes.

Simmons sent out the message from the comfort of his own home, with the 6-foot-10 Sixers guard obviously adhering to the social distancing measures required in order to help prevent the spread of the virus. Donations are great, but there's no doubt that the best way to help out these first responders is by staying at home ourselves. By doing so, we are helping flatten the curve and lessening the potential patients these first responders have to attend to during this pandemic.

Ben Simmons and the Sixers will continue to do their part to help out as they wait to get back to work, whenever that may be.
