We were all treated to a vintage James Harden performance on Sunday as the former league MVP led the Sixers to a series-tying 116-108 Game 4 win against the Miami Heat. Apparently, Philly head coach Doc Rivers knew Harden's explosion was coming all along.

According to Rivers, he had a hunch before the game that Harden was going to come out with an offensive eruption:

“It’s just James being James,” said Rivers, via Justin Grasso of the SunHerald. “He played great. I said before the game I thought he was going to have a big game tonight. I didn’t know 31 points and all of the other stuff, but you can just sense it. And again, the points are great, but if he has 20 points and 14 assists either way he does it, they are all points for us, and we’re good with that.”

Harden had been pedestrian throughout the series prior to his eye-popping Game 4 performance. It was only a matter of time before the 10-time All-Star came out with a strong game and as Rivers expected, this went down on Monday night. This came in the form of Harden dropping a team-high 31 points on 8-of-18 shooting, seven rebounds, nine assists, and six 3-pointers.

The Sixers will need this version of James Harden if they hope to topple the mighty Heat in what has now become a best-of-three series.
