With two wins and two losses, the Philadelphia 76ers have had a so-so start to the new campaign. However, the same cannot be said for superstar big man Joel Embiid, who just recently matched a 52-year-old Sixers record held by the great Wilt Chamberlain for most 20-point, 10-rebound games to open the season.

Over the first four games of the new season, Joel Embiid has averaged an astounding 29.5 points and 10.8 rebounds for the Sixers, making him the only player since Wilt Chamberlain to accomplish such an impressive feat for the Sixers to start a season. The 24-year-old has also chipped in an average of 1.o three-pointers, 3.8 assists, 0.5 steals, 2.3 blocks, and 2.0 turnovers per contest. The big guy is also making it look easy, currently shooting at a 51.9% clip.

On Tuesday, Embiid's heroics were not enough to give the Sixers a win against a very motivated Detroit Pistons side. Behind Black Griffin's 50-point night, the Pistons took the overtime victory 133-132.

Embiid finished the evening with 33 points on 11-of-20 shooting, 11 rebounds, seven assists, three blocks, and just one turnover in 39 minutes of action. The Sixers were without the services of Ben Simmons who was forced to sit out the game due to some back tightness.

Joel Embiid and the Sixers are playing on back-to-back nights, and are slated to travel to Milwaukee to face the streaking Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks on Wednesday night. Embiid will surely want to make his mark early and often in this Eastern Conference marquee matchup.
