It's only a matter of days — or even hours — before the world knows if LeBron James will be playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers or Los Angeles Lakers next season. But before anything becomes official, the Philadelphia 76ers' Joel Embiid isn't giving up on his own pursuit of James.

Amid reports of James being in Los Angeles already, the Sixers All-Star tweeted out a strong message that could be directed toward the four-time MVP.

The Lakers are FOREVER gonna be Kobe’s and Magic’s team…. Process that.

It seems that Embiid, who's currently moonlighting as a recruiter for his team, is feeling the James and Lakers hype that has been generated over the last few hours. Philadelphia would've had the assets and cap space necessary to acquire James, but Sixers rumors have died down several days ago.
To Embiid's credit, he makes a good point. A shift to Los Angeles doesn't make James the instant King of L.A., instead, he'd still be under the shadows of Kobe Bryant and Magic Johnson in terms of being franchise icons.
Interestingly, Embiid's recruitment of James isn't something that is new to everyone. Back in 2014, shortly after being drafted, the center out of Kansas had already sent a pitch to James to play for the Sixers. Then again, who wouldn't give the chance of teaming up with LeBron James an honest attempt?
