Joel Embiid missed a significant amount of time in the regular season due to an injury to his left knee. This is exactly why it was a worrisome sight to see Embiid clutching that same knee after securing a rebound in Game 3 of the Sixers' second-round matchup against the Atlanta Hawks on Friday.

Game 3 was held in Atlanta's State Farm Arena, and it did sound like Hawks fans began cheering the moment they saw that Embiid was in a bit of pain (h/t ClutchPoints on Twitter):

It's not as if the entire arena came roaring to life as soon as Embiid held his knee. However, you can clearly hear a bit of cheering from the home crowd. The level of competition brought about by the playoffs is undeniably intense, which is why fans are fully committed to their respective teams. However, it still remains unacceptable to wish harm for opposing players.

It looks like Embiid is okay, and he did remain in the game despite the injury scare. Hopefully, the knee doesn't act up overnight. The Sixers need their superstar at his very best against a relentless Hawks side.

Game 4 is scheduled for Monday and barring any setbacks, Embiid should be good to go for that one.
