Markelle Fultz played just a total of 14 games last season, his first in the NBA, largely because of a mysterious shoulder injury. Technically, he’s no longer a rookie, but for many fans, he could be considered as such in the 2018-19 campaign, considering the limited amount of time the former No. 1 overall pick has seen action on the court a season ago.

In preparation for the next season, Fultz is spending his summer working out with famed trainer Drew Hanlen of Pure Sweat Basketball. However, not much is really known about the progress of Fultz’ training under Hanlen. While there are videos of Fultz released from time to time, it was done in an incremental manner and in a way that gives the impression that the flow of information is being controlled.

In a recent appearance on Alex Kennedy’s Hoops Hype podcast, Hanlen pointed out that they are simply being careful in sharing details about Fultz’s workout to keep people from putting too much pressure on the guard.

“What I can tell you is that he’s doing very well. I think that a lot of people think that we’re hiding him and we’re not hiding him. We’re just being very strategic in what we share because, obviously, you don’t want to ever add pressure to a player when you don’t have to. Fans and the media would love to be able to witness every workout of every player that I work with, especially with guys like Markelle.”

The important thing for the Sixers right now is that Fultz is doing fine and reportedly getting his normal jump shot form back. Hopefully, for them, he will be 100 percent ready once the new season rolls around.
