Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck announced his shocking retirement from the NFL on Saturday, sending shockwaves throughout the entire sports world.

Philadelphia 76ers forward Tobias Harris reacted to the news and applauded Luck for walking away on his own terms. However, the Sixers star wasn't too fond of those who reacted negatively to the 29-year-old's personal decision to walk away from the game:

Luck's injuries have caught up not only to his physical being, but also his mental state, citing his nagging ailments over the past few years as to why he's calling it a career at such a prime age. His most recent injury in the preseason may have just been the final nail in the coffin of what could have been a Hall of Fame career down the line.

As a fellow athlete, Harris can understand what Luck is going through right now. Colts fans were obviously shell-shocked at what just happened, but booing a man who gave it his all for their franchise whenever he played is just not right.

Obviously, Andrew Luck doesn't like the fact that he's walking away from the sport he loves at the prime years of his career. But Tobias Harris is right: you can't fault a man for making a personal decision for himself and his family.
