2021-22 may be a lost cause for Barcelona in terms of winning La Liga or making a Champions League run, but the team fully intends to be back in the spotlight next season. In order to get back to its former status, Barcelona is plotting a major spending spree this summer, which reportedly includes poaching some key players from Chelsea's backline. According to Fabrizio Romano, both Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta are among the top targets for the Catalan giants when the transfer window re-opens in June.

Barcelona is looking to take advantage of the free-transfer market this offseason, and among their top priorities will be the Chelsea duo, both of whom are set to see their contracts expire at the end of the season. Christensen has long been rumored with a move to Barca at the end of his contract, and it seems he plans to follow through with his intentions of joining the club this summer. Azpilicueta, a Spanish international, has also been rumored to be interested in making the move once he's a free agent.

Adding a slew of proven talent such as those individuals without spending a dime on transfer fees would be a huge get for Barcelona this offseason, especially given the financial woes which have plagued the club of late.
