Spanish forward Ferran Torres has noted that he is much pleased with his current standing at Barcelona.

Torres has had plenty of highs and lows over his early run at Barca. While the Spanish international has chipped in for key goal contributions in all competitions, he has also been on the short end of crucial goal-scoring chances. All in all, he has so far recorded five goal contributions over his current stint with the Catalan side.

Amid much outside criticism surrounding his recent sluggish goal production, Torres believes he is currently on the “right path” with his ongoing run at Barca, which he touched on during a videoconference at an iNuba event.

“I am happy, the coach has confidence in me and I am not worried about scoring,” Torres said. “You have to work and the results will come. I am on the right path because goal-scoring is about streaks, sometimes it goes in, other times not. The key is to be consistent, be right mentally. When one goes in, they all will go in – you have to be positive.”

Overall, Torres has also played the role of a playmaker at Barca so far this season. He has notched three assists in all competitions in the campaign, which include an assist in Barca’s 4-2 win over Napoli in the second leg of their Europa League playoff tie. He wound up averaging 1.5 key passes per match in the tie against the Serie A side.

Torres sees that much attention should not simply be centered on his goal-scoring form as of late but rather on his overall production in Barca’s attack upfront.

“There is a lot of focus on goals but it's not all about that,” Torres said. “I think I am bringing a lot of things to the team.

“It's true that I am an attacking player but there are other factors such as helping defensively, creating goals, link up play … that's all important too.”

For now, Torres may be in line for a start in Barcelona’s upcoming La Liga away fixture against Elche. The Catalan side has reeled off wins in its last two league fixtures.
