Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland is one of the hottest properties in world football and many believe he will finally leave Signal Iduna next summer when his transfer fee lowers to around €70 million. While a host of different European giants remain interested in the Norwegian, including Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Manchester City, Dortmund has a plan in place to try and keep Haaland.
Per Marca, the Bundesliga side is willing to double the youngster's wages from eight million to 16 million per season if he actually stayed at BVB. Despite this potential offer from Dortmund, which isn't surprising, it's unlikely Haaland remains at the club. After all, he's already conquered the Bundesliga, bagging 52 goals in just 53 appearances since arriving from Austrian outfit RB Salzburg in December of 2019.
The 22-year-old is also under the wing of super-agent Mino Raiola, who is an absolute wizard at getting his clients what they need. But given Haaland's world-class quality, he'll essentially have the pick of the litter as to where he wants to play next.

They're planning a big summer in 2022, with their eyes also set on Kylian Mbappe, who could leave PSG as a free agent next year. Could you imagine a frontline of Haaland and Mbappe? It would truly be the most electric strike duo on the globe.
As for Man City, they're definitely another club to keep a close eye on in the Haaland pursuit. Pep Guardiola recently said the Citizens plan to target a central striker in next summer's transfer window and what better player to chase than Haaland, whose father also played for the Sky Blues during his Premier League career.
Needless to say, it's going to be a busy next couple of months for Erling Haaland. Realistically though, it's hard to imagine him staying at Dortmund, even with their new plan. He wants to win trophies and play regular Champions League football. That's just not happening right now.
