To no surprise, the San Antonio Spurs have been one of the best teams in the league to start the 2017-18 NBA season. Perhaps even more impressive is that they have largely been able to win without veteran point guard Tony Parker and superstar forward Kawhi Leonard.

Although Parker has been active since late November, there could be some more help on the way soon with the impending return of Leonard. However, the two-time Defensive Player of the Year still seemed unsure when asked if he has set an exact date, according to Jabari Young of the San Antonio Express-News.

“No… just whenever I see how the next day of recovery feels,”Leonard said. “It's just based on how I feel is when I'll be released to play.”

Despite the much-anticipated return of Kawhi Leonard, his imminent comeback continues to remain an enigma. Spurs coach Greg Popovich indicated last week that Leonard was in the final stages of his rehabilitation process. He even compared his timetable to what Tony Parker's was after the veteran came back from a similar injury.

Even in Kawhi Leonard's absence, the Spurs have done a solid job of maintaining their high standards. However, they have also been vocal about shoring things up on both ends of the floor while their franchise player is still out. With San Antonio playing so well all year, there really is no need to rush Leonard back to the court before they need to.
