Pittsburgh Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger announced his retirement on Thursday morning, putting out an emotional video on his decision. It officially ends his 18-year NFL career in which he won two Super Bowls.

The tributes have been pouring in for Roethlisberger, with a number of former teammates sending heartfelt messages to the longtime Steelers quarterback:

Roethlisberger had a lot of Steelers teammates over the years, and this video includes Brett Keisel, Vance McDonald, Alan Faneca, Heath Miller, Max Starks, James Harrison, Kendall Simmons, Matt Spaeth, Mike Wallace, Ramon Foster and Tommy Maddox.

That's quite a crew.

Roethlisberger spent his entire career with the Steelers after going 11th overall in the 2004 NFL Draft. He made a name for himself immediately by winning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and then went on to earn six Pro Bowl nods while also winning Super Bowl XL and Super Bowl XLIII. The quarterback led the league in passing yards in 2014 and 2018.

The Steelers must now enter a new era with Roethlisberger calling it quits. Mike Tomlin and Co. will have to find a new quarterback to replace Big Ben, and those are some mighty big shoes to fill.
