Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is at the cusp of making history this coming weekend.

As the Steelers are set to face off against the Houston Texans in Week 3, the legendary quarterback is poised to play his 221st career game to blaze a new record for most games ever in franchise history. The 38-year-old will be moving past Hall of Famer Mike Webster, currently holding the record at 220 games played for the Steel Curtain.

“I’ve been blessed to be around a lot of great football players and talent and teammates. I did take a lot of beating early on. A lot of that was my fault. God made me a bigger man than most quarterbacks, so I think I can take it and I’m just enjoying playing this game.” Roethlisberger said, per steelers.com.

The six-time Pro Bowler is already on his 17th year with the Steelers and is looking to be a lock as one of the best (if not the best) signal-callers to ever suit up for the franchise. A two-time passing yards leader as well as a two-time Super Bowl champion for the Steelers, Roethlisberger has had quite the career in his time in Pittsburgh. Big Ben is already the all-time passing leader for the franchise with a total of 57,085 yards for 368 touchdowns. Given what he's shown so far this season, Roethlisberger has few more thousand yards of passing left in him.

After missing virtually the entire 2019 season with an elbow injury, the Ohio native is fully recovered and is back at the helm of the Steelers' offense. Two games into the 2020 season, Roethlisberger is looking like a well-oiled machine with 540 passing yards and five touchdowns to his name already as the Steelers kick off their 2020 season with two huge wins.

Don't sleep on Big Ben just yet.
