Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Devlin Hodges was benched in the last week's matchup against the New York Jets, but he still has all the confidence in the world.

“I’ve got all the confidence in the world in myself and my guys. Now, we just have to go out and do it, Hodges said via Joe Rutter of Triblive.com.”

Hodges has shown flashes of being a good NFL quarterback, but the turnovers have been a huge problem. Against the Jets, Hodges threw two interceptions and overall he has eight interceptions on the season. Hodges did admit that being benched against the Jets was tough, but he tries to be a team-first player.

“It’s definitely tough,” Hodges said Wednesday before the Steelers held their first practice of the week heading into the season finale Sunday at Baltimore. “Coach told me I did a good job of staying in the game. Once I got benched, I was back into the position of being one play away, and I ended up having to go back out there and give us a chance to win.

“It’s tough, but you have to be a team player.”

The good news for Hodges is he is back to being the starter and he has everything still in front of him. The Steelers can clinch a playoff berth with a win against the Baltimore Ravens, and a Tennessee Titans loss against the Houston Texans.

For the Steelers to win this game it's going to take a game from Hodges where he takes good care of the ball.
