Despite enjoying a very long NFL career, linebacker Jon Bostic hasn’t had the stability that most players in the league would like. He’s hoping that his stint with the Pittsburgh Steelers changes that.

After leaving the Chicago Bears in 2015, Bostic was on a new team every year, spending time with the Patriots and Colts before signing to the Steelers last year.

Now, he hopes that he won’t have to make another move anytime soon.

“Obviously this is my first year here and whatnot; hopefully we can make this place a home,” Bostic said in an interview with the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review via Pro Football Talk. “It’s been a fun year; definitely didn’t go the way we would have planned. But that’s football. You can’t plan everything out. But I do [hope to be back].”

Currently, Bostic is set to make $1.8 million in 2019, and the Steelers would have to take on just $700,000 in dead money if they were to part ways.

Things didn't go the Steelers way last year, as they started off the 2018 season strong but were unable to make it to the playoffs despite a 9-6-1 record.

Now, the team looks to be heading into a fairly tumultuous offseason, as they'll likely be trading away star receiver Antonio Brown, and will surely be facing criticism from the rest of the league because of it.

With that in mind, it might be good for the Steelers to have some stability in their linebacking group.

Bostic finished the 2018 season with 73 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and five tackles for a loss while starting in 14 of the Steelers 16 games.
