The Pittsburgh Steelers traded up to get Devin Bush, and that was enough for Mel Kiper Jr. to call them one of his round one winners. As Kiper points out since Ryan Shazier went down with his devastating injury, the team hasn't found anyone to replace his production, and he thinks Bush is a perfect guy to do that.

“My pal Louis Riddick called Bush pound-for-pound the best player in this draft,” Kiper wrote of the pick in his ESPN article. “Though I won't quite go that far, I love this fit, and I love Pittsburgh being aggressive in getting its guy, trading the Nos. 20 and 52 picks plus a third-round pick in next year's draft to get the sideline-to-sideline linebacker. Bush is going to slot in at the weakest spot on the Steelers' roster, as the team hasn't been able to replace the production of Ryan Shazier.”

To trade up the Steelers had to give up the 20th pick, the 52nd pick, and a third round pick next year but because the team traded away Antonio Brown earlier this offseason they still have two picks on Friday night. The Steelers will draft at pick 66 which was the Raiders pick, and they will also draft 83rd overall which was is their pick.

At the end of the day if Bush does turn out to be a guy that can replace the production Shazier had on the field, it doesn't matter what they had to give up to get him, it's going to end up being worth it.
