The Pittsburgh Steelers' defensive lineman Cameron Heyward has been in hot water as of late due to a “punch” he gave the Los Angeles Chargers' quarterback Justin Herbert in the fourth quarter of the Steelers-Chargers Week 11 matchup. The offense did not result in an ejection for Heyward, but has merited a review for a fine, as Ian Rapoport tweets:

As Heyward braces for the fine, this is relatively good news for Steelers faithful, as a suspension would have had its own implications on the Steelers moving forward. Heyward had a so-so performance against the Chargers, logging four tackles in the Steelers' 37-41 loss to LA. The altercation surrounding Heyward and Herbert happened in a fourth quarter dominated by the Steelers, as Joseph Salvador of Sports Illustrated shares:

In the fourth quarter, Herbert found an open lane and took the ball himself up the field when Heyward began to pursue him. Heyward tackled Herbert from behind but stayed on top of him. When Chargers teammate Joshua Palmer tried to get the defensive end off of his quarterback, Heyward pushed him away, rolled Herbert over on his back, and punched him in the stomach.

While Heyward has avoided a suspension, the details surrounding his upcoming fine have yet to be released.
