Pittsburgh Steelers star defensive end T.J. Watt was on a quest for NFL history all season long, as he was flirting with the NFL's sack record. Watt ultimately fell just short, as he ended up tying the sack record set by former New York Giants defensive end Michael Strahan in the final game of the regular season against the Baltimore Ravens. During an appearance on the Dan Patrick show, Watt admitted to making a hilarious move while trying to break the sack record against the Ravens, via NFL reporter Dov Kleiman and SteelersWire of USA Today.

That's hilarious. Steelers star T.J. Watt told Dan Patrick that he checked his phone during halftime of the game against the Ravens to see if he had broken the sack record. Talk about being committed to something.

Watt said that he checked a group chat that included his brother and Arizona Cardinals star J.J. Watt, which was how he found out he was still shy of the sack record. As pointed out by USA Today, it's certainly an odd move that the Steelers star would admit to this, since the NFL prohibits the use of cell phones at any point during a game.

The NFL may react to T.J Watt's hilarious cell phone check while trying to break the sack record. If they do, call it the Watt Rule in honor of the Steelers star.
