The Pittsburgh Steelers were likely pleased with what they got from first-round pick T.J. Watt last year. The linebacker led all rookies with seven sacks and added 52 tackles, seven passes defended, and an interception.

But with how he’s gone about this offseason, Watt is hardly satisfied with his performance. He would rather forget all about last year and prove himself all over again in Year 2.

“It's a new season. It's a clean slate. I've got everything to prove,” Watt said per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. “I'll go out there and try to provide as much splash.”

As the brother of Texans star J.J., T.J. has a lot to live up to. But like his brother, he’s attacked his offseason preparation with a fierce dedication. From his disciplined adherence to his 8,000-calorie diet to his grueling five-day-a-week workout schedule, Watt is doing just about everything in his power to improve this offseason.

Watt will have a new role on the Steelers defense this season as he switches sides with Bud Dupree, who will take over on the blind side. But Watt has diligently been honing his body to fit his new role on the left, so he should be well-prepared for whatever challenges that potentially tricky transition may bring.

Obviously, it’ll be a bit unfair to expect J.J. Watt-level production from T.J. But if he can get anywhere close to his brother’s best after putting in all the hard work this offseason, the Steelers should have a heck of a player on their hands.
