Ben Roethlisberger's retirement firmly marks the end of an era for the Pittsburgh Steelers. While the future remains uncertain, Pittsburgh can look back on the success of his career and discusses his greatness.

On The Rich Eisen Show, a Steelers legend shared a scorching hot take about Roethlisberger. Terry Bradshaw said that when Big Ben was at his peak, he would have taken him over Tom Brady.

“Listen, before they just beat the snot out of him, there was none better. I would have taken him over any quarterback in the league and that includes the guy down in Tampa Bay. The young man in Tampa Bay has been very blessed and fortunate to have been surrounded with talent and talent and talent. Ben came in…and the offensive line got old, got bad and he got the heck beat out of him for the last three years.”

Bradshaw's take is a bit perplexing when you dig into it. For one, Roethlisberger has also been surrounded by immense talent. He has had several star playmakers on his offense — namely Hines Ward, Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown — as well as a very strong defense led by superstars like James Harrison and Troy Polamalu. Brady's teams may have had more talent, but the Steelers in Roethlisberger's career were littered with Pro Bowlers, too.

Also, Bradshaw called Brady the best player in league history just last season. Perhaps Brady's longevity is what makes him superior to Roethlisberger overall. Regardless, Bradshaw has plenty of admiration for both future Hall of Famers.

Brady shared a heartfelt, joking message to Roethlisberger after his decision to retire was officially announced. Now Brady himself is contemplating retirement.
