It has been a weird year in the NFL to say the least, and it looks like things are just getting more peculiar as the weeks go by. On Sunday, JuJu Smith-Schuster had of one of the strangest in-game injuries this season after he appeared to have tweaked his ankle upon stepping on a referee's penalty flag. The Pittsburgh Steelers receiver then had to limp to the sidelines after the incident.

Definitely not the most ideal way to spend your 24th birthday.

Luckily, the football gods were kind enough to spare Juju Smith-Schuster, as he seemed to be okay after the incident. At the time of the bizarre incident, the Steelers had a comfortable margin and held on to snag their 10th win of the season even with their WR on the sidelines.

Though Smith-Schuster wasn't able to score a TD on his birthday, he was still able to make four catches for 19 total yards. The California native was also able to celebrate his birthday on the field after Chase Claypool's touchdown when the rookie brought the ball for him to blow while the rest of the offensive line sang a quick birthday lullaby.

After the game, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin didn't seem to be worried by his wideout's injury, and it seems that Smith-Shuster should be ready to play ahead of their Thanksgiving match against the Baltimore Ravens.
