Ryan Shazier has been defying the odds as he recovers from a scary spinal injury that caused him to put his NFL career on hold. The Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker was seen on the field in the Steelers preseason against the Tennessee Titans catching passes.

Shazier suffered his unfortunate injury nearly two years ago in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals in December of the 2017 season. On the play, the middle linebacker was attempting to make a tackle on Josh Malone.

While making the tackle, Shazier's head was pointed down and he immediately reached for his back after the hit. Sadly, the athletic linebacker had to be laid on a stretcher to be taken off the field.

After the devastating back injury, Shazier has had to rehab and learn how to walk again. The doctors gave him a slim chance to walk, but the strong-willed linebacker proved them wrong.

Since he's been able to walk again, Shazier has made strides in his recovery. The Ohio State product has been seen working out and running during the offseason. The Steelers also got to witness Shazier get married this offseason, where he displayed his dancing skills after the wedding.

Despite the doubters, Shazier still yearns to play in the NFL again and still has aspirations of making the Hall of Fame. If there's anything we've learned throughout his recovery process, it's to not believe anything is impossible for him.

This past Sunday, Shazier was catching passes in pregame warmups in street clothes. In the near future, we could see the inspirational leader making tackles in a Steelers uniform once again.
