Much has been made about the collision course that the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers have been on throughout this season, going almost toe-to-toe during the playoffs, both of these super teams have steamrolled their way through their opposition to the tune of a 24-1 record.

Warriors All-Star point guard Stephen Curry isn't buying into the hoopla of these two dominant teams reflecting poorly in major scope of the league, taking personal offense to this as an understatement of the excellence both conference champions have achieved.

“I mean, that almost is kinda disrespectful, because it's almost like it was easy for us to get here. It wasn't that at all,” Curry said Friday afternoon when asked about the possibility of the league's competition being watered down. “Us and Cleveland worked our butts off all year to put ourselves in a position to be playing for a championship.”

“The league is as strong talent-wise across the board as it's ever been. Every night you get challenged.”

Both of these teams have a championship to their name and a target on their back every night, taking the opponents' best shot as their matchups are likely marked on the calendar as an opportunity to stand out and “shock the world” with an upset win.

Having faced injuries, slumps, and plenty of controversy throughout the 82-game season and even more so in the postseason, Cleveland and Golden State have faced as much or even more media scrutiny than some teams combined.

“You can't just sleepwalk through a season, sleepwalk through the playoffs, and expect to be here,” Curry added. “You gotta do something. You gotta come out every night and prove yourself.

“Granted, anybody who's betting on who's going to be in the Finals probably picked us two. But, it's easy for them to say that and just wake up in June and see it happen. We had to put that work in all year long to make it happen.”
