Australia and New Zealand have a similar relationship to the United States and Canada. The countries are very alike, but they also enjoy trash-talking each other.

However, with the Western Conference Finals right around the corner, Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams, a New Zealander, said he won't trash talk his Australian opponent Andrew Bogut of the Golden State Warriors.

Adams told reporters the reason why on Saturday:

“I made fun of them when we (beat Australia) in cricket in like my first year […] Last year we got kicked, so I didn't talk to him from then on. We got destroyed.”

It seems that since New Zealand lost last year against Australia in the cricket World Cup Finals, Adams won't trash-talk Bogut because the winner of the World Cup would most likely be brought up mid conversation.
