Everything was looking peachy for the Phoenix Suns after sweeping the Denver Nuggets. Then as of Wednesday morning, it took a turn for the worst. Superstar guard Chris Paul has been placed in the league's health and safety protocols and now, it's being reported that he has tested positive for COVID-19, per John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports:

Welp. This is absolutely brutal news for the Suns. Being without their floor general is a huge blow and definitely hurts their chances of potentially making it past the conference finals. Phoenix has truly been a two-headed monster on both ends of the court in the playoffs, with numerous players stepping up alongside CP3 and Devin Booker.

Mikal Bridges, Cam Payne, Jae Crowder, and Deandre Ayton have all been brilliant, but Paul is the glue that brings the Suns together. Aside from his ability to elevate everyone around him, the veteran brings experience and moxie to Phoenix.

The Suns are still awaiting their opponent but it's looking as it'll be the Utah Jazz after Clippers star Kawhi Leonard was diagnosed with a knee sprain on Wednesday which is putting his status for the rest of the series in doubt.

Hopefully, by the time Chris Paul returns, Phoenix won't be in too big of a hole.
