Devin Booker stole the attention of everybody on Sunday during Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. Booker dropped 40 points en route to his first career triple-double and the Suns won Game 1 against the Los Angeles Clippers as they await word on the status of Chris Paul. Booker’s outing was highlighted by 16 straight points during a 3rd quarter stretch that shifted the favor of the game in the Suns’ direction.

Booker’s outing drew reactions from numerous NBA stars, but his teammates weren’t the least bit surprised. Jae Crowder said after the game that he isn’t surprised by Booker, and there should be more performances like this in store of the young guard out of Kentucky.

Well, if Booker is in line for more of these outings, then the Clippers are in serious trouble, especially considering that Ty Lue’s team is unsure about the availability of Kawhi Leonard for the series.

In turn, Booker became the first Suns player to record a playoff triple-double since Steve Nash in 2005, and he will need to continue to play at a high level against a tough, physical, gritty Clippers team that just would not go away on Sunday. Albeit, the Clippers have yet to go away in this postseason, overcoming a pair of 2-0 deficits to reach the WCF.

Game 2 between the Suns and Clippers will be on Tuesday, and Booker will be ready to string together another impressive performance.
