Take-Two Interactive really is becoming a big bully in the gaming industry, this time picking on It Takes Two.

It Takes Two is very close to our hearts, and we know that a lot of people really adore this game. We've had a really good experience playing this, and we recommend that you do, too. Playing this game and recommending it to your friends will do a lot for developers Hazelight Studios, especially now that they run the risk of not being able to protect the It Takes Two IP at all, no thanks to Take-Two Interactive.

Eurogamer reports that Hazelight Studios abandoned its trademark application for the game's title after Take-Two hit them with a trademark claim. Both Take-Two and Hazelight Studios declined to comment on the issue, but it's apparent that Hazelight Studios abandoned their trademark application to prevent Take-Two from taking them to court over the name.

Take-Two has been very aggressive with these trademark claims and disputes this past year. They have been on a rampage, claiming words such as “rockstar”, “social club”, “mafia”, “civilization”, and, take this, even the word “bully”. They can take the word “bully” any day they want with how they're acting.

What does this mean for It Takes Two? Well, it doesn't seem like they'd be forced to rename the game. However, any copycat game moving forward that will use It Takes Two‘s likeness and come up with a similar-sounding name will go on scot-free. That is, Hazelight Studios won't be able to sue them on copyright grounds, not unless Take-Two themselves also gets involved.

This isn't Take-Two Interactive's only bad deed this year. If Santa's reading this, he might want to see all of the bad things Take-Two Interactive did this year, and see if they make the naughty list.
