Novak Djokovic has opened up about his fresh mindset as he continues to add glitter to his already glamorous career.

With 20 Grand Slam titles to his name, Novak Djokovic will certainly go down in history as one of the greatest players to ever play the game. But like any other superstar athlete, “The Joker” too is still striving for more.

According to Djokovic, he has relied on his “defensive style” of playing his entire career and now, he is working on changing things up a bit and become “more aggressive.”

“I was born with a more defensive style of play and with the ability to cover all the court, and sometimes I counted too much on those defensive qualities. Being more aggressive is one of the goals I have now in my career,” Djokovic told La Gazzetta della Sport via Tennis World USA.

The US Open final defeat to Daniil Medvedev saw Djokovic failing to reach tennis immortality. However, the 34-year-old managed to bounce back, having taken a break and won the Paris Masters title.

Reflecting on the said adversity, Djokovic put an emphasis on the importance of having a positive mindset.

“It was certainly difficult for me,” the reigning World No. 1 player said of his US Open loss. “The mind plays an important role, just like the physical and technical aspects of the game. You have to be able to understand how to manage negative energy in the most productive way.”

As it stands, Djokovic is on course to end the year with a bang as he opened up the ATP Finals with a decisive victory over Norway's Casper Ruud.
