Ons Jabeur has done it again at Wimbledon. The world no. 2 defeated Germany's Tatjana Maria in three sets, advancing to the Wimbledon final. A native of Tunisia, Jabeur had already made history by advancing to the semifinal, but she did so again.

She is the first Arab woman to reach a major final and the first African woman to do so in the Open Era. After the match, Jabeur shared her inspirational reaction to making history in front of a joyous Wimbledon crowd. Here is the moment, shared by Wimbledon's Twitter account.

Jabeur said that she is a “proud Tunisian woman standing here right now.” Truly inspirational. Unable to hold back a smile, the Wimbledon finalist said she ‘knew they're going crazy in Tunisia right now.”

In a post-match interview filled with emotions, Jabeur added a light-hearted moment earlier in the interview. She was asked how difficult it was to put her friendship with Maria, who she called her “barbecue buddy”, aside in the heat of the match.

Jabeur joked that her friend will “have to make her barbecue” for all the running she was forced to do during the Wimbledon match.

With a great personality and a talented game on the court, tennis has another great star and ambassador for the sport in Ons Jabeur.

She'll await the winner of the other semifinal, featuring Elena Rybakina and 2019 Wimbledon champion Simona Halep. All the while, the entirety of Tunisia will be standing behind Ons Jabeur as she attempts to rewrite the history books at the All-England Club.
