Forget football. That's child's play compared to the rigors of life. Houston Texans safety Andre Hal is one of the latest examples to understand that exact notion after coming down with a diagnosis of lymphoma in early June.

Harsh reality or not, it doesn't have the young safety down and on Monday, he's a shining example of a hero by proclaiming he knows exactly how to beat his diagnosis, via Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.

“I know how to beat it, and I’m definitely going to beat it,” Hal said, via the Houston Chronicle. “I’ve got so much support from Houston to Port Allen to Baton Rouge, it feels great to have all these people come and help me out. When you get sick or you get a cold, you’ve got to keep on grinding. You’ve got to grow through it. Nothing lasts forever. Everything is temporary. This is temporary for me.”

Hal, 26, is an NFL rags-to-riches story.

Drafted in the seventh round of the 2014 NFL Draft, the Vanderbilt product was an afterthought during the 2015 NFL season. Dressing 14 games and starting none, he was a major player on special teams.

Over the last three seasons, Hal's started games at both free and strong safety, a combined 38 while tallying nine interceptions, two forced fumbles one sack, 122 total tackles and a defensive touchdown.

Hal's entering the first year of a new four-year deal but, unfortunately, will have to deal with that diagnosis of lymphoma first. One thing's for sure when looking at this specific case, Andre Hal's mindset is right on point.
