The success that CJ Stroud is experiencing is not a coincidence. Bobby Slowik has been carefully crafting the Houston Texans offense in order to let his star thrive in almost all situations. With another season for the defensive coordinator and quarterback duo, DeMeco Ryans will surely notch more entries in the win column. A big believer in this squad is Dallas Cowboys legend Troy Aikman.

Look, it's very hard to impress a legendary quarterback with one's schemes. Bobby Slowik did exactly that in front of Troy Aikman. The Cowboys' legendary signal-caller could not help but wonder why the Texans offensive coordinator chose to stay with DeMeco Ryans and CJ Stroud instead of being another team's head honcho, via Larry Brown Sports.

“I will say, if it had been up to me, he wouldn’t be the coordinator right now. I was pushing him for a head coaching job. He’s going to get a job — maybe it’ll be after this season — who knows? Talk to a lot of people who he’s been on a staff with, and they have nothing but great things to say about him. He’s got an awfully bright future,” Aikman declared.

The Cowboys legend does make a great point here about the Texans offensive coordinator. Slowik was reportedly offered to be interviewed at least five times for a head coaching position in the league. He still has not made his reason for staying with the Stroud and Ryans-led Texans. But, it's not hard to see why he thinks that this squad could take him to football immortality.

An offensive coordinator's schemes can only ever be as good as the quarterback who is executing their game plan. Stroud has proven to be one of the best at the signal caller spot last year despite being a rookie. Slowik noted that his main offensive engine is so insane that it may be close to Tom Brady's acumen on the field already.

“Brady is the best example. Brady was elite at doing that. How he got to the top may be different, but always got to his launch point in the pocket and then was able to navigate push. Being willing to take what the defense gave him in between the special plays made him an extremely efficient quarterback. And that’s something that C.J. is really embracing,” he said about the Texans second-year quarterback.

This duo has been quite insane in their first year together. Their accomplishments are only going to go higher.
