The wide receiver talent in the 2020 draft class is extremely deep. Players like Tee Higgins and CeeDee Lamb are climbing up draft boards but it is hard to go against Jerry Jeudy as the best receiving prospect in the draft. The New York Giants will have a top-five pick and they could be eyeing the Alabama standout.

The Giants are currently 2-10 and slotted in the second spot in the draft. They still have matchups with the Washington Redskins and Miami Dolphins on their schedule. If the Giants win either one of those games, their position will change. With Joe Burrow most likely going first, the Giants would be able to do whatever they want at No. 2, which would be Chase Young. If they were to fall in the draft, Jeudy could be their target.

When looking at the Giants' offensive weapons, Jeudy does not seem like the worst idea in New York.

The last time the Giants took a receiver in the first round was Odell Beckham Jr. in 2014. Jeudy could come in and deliver the same star power as Beckham.

Outside of Golden Tate, the Giants' receiving core has been underwhelming. Sterling Shepard has not been able to stay healthy and Evan Engram is looking more and more like a bust every week he is on the field. Jeudy would bring an instant impact to the offense. The reigning Biletnikoff winner is hands down the best route runner in the draft. He has great acceleration and body control. Jeudy is hard to tackle in the open field and normally makes the first man miss.

The only issue on pairing the Giants and Jeudy would be other needs. Wide receiver is not first on the Giants' list. They still need to upgrade their offensive line and add an edge rusher. This is where Young comes into play if the Giants remain in the No. 2 slot. Jeudy would be a match because he would bring excitement to a pretty boring offensive team.

The Giants have not won a game since September. They are losers of eight in a row and are showing no signs of improving. Saquon Barkley has been battling an ankle injury and is not being used enough in the offense. Rookie quarterback Daniel Jones has struggled with turnovers in his first season. Jeudy is a player that could take the pressure off other key pieces of the offense.

Taking a receiver in the top five is something that has not been a trend in recent years. There are prospects in this draft that will make teams reconsider that trend. Jeudy is one of them and the Giants may be the team to land him.
